Refund policy.

The promise

Resumely sells craft, not lottery tickets. If a resume we generated for you is genuinely unhelpful, we refund. We have refunded every reasonable request we have received to date.

Refund window

Single-resume purchases (KES 499): 7 days from the date of purchase.

Career Monthly (KES 1,499): 14 days from the start of any new monthly cycle.

Career Yearly (KES 14,990): 30 days from the date of purchase.

Lifetime (KES 9,999): 14 days from the date of purchase.

Recruiter (KES 4,999): 14 days from the start of any new monthly cycle.

After these windows, we still consider refund requests case-by-case at our reasonable discretion.

How to request a refund

Email hello@resumely.co.ke with your Paystack transaction reference (visible in your dashboard's billing tab) and a sentence explaining why you'd like a refund. You do NOT need to justify the request beyond the sentence — the reference is so we can find the transaction quickly.

We acknowledge every refund email within 1 business day. The actual money movement takes 5-10 business days depending on the payment method.

Payment-method specifics

M-Pesa: Paystack does not yet offer self-service M-Pesa refund via API. We email Paystack support with your reference; Paystack processes the reverse-STK back to your Safaricom account. Expect the funds in your M-Pesa wallet within 5-10 business days.

Visa / Mastercard: refunds run through the Paystack dashboard automatically once we initiate. Funds return to your card statement within 5-10 business days depending on your issuing bank.

For subscriptions we cancel renewal immediately on refund. You retain access for the remainder of the period you have already paid for.

What we do NOT refund

AI tailoring credits already consumed at the time of the refund request — these are non-refundable because we paid the model provider for them on your behalf.

Recruiter-plan team-seat months where the seat has been actively used (defined as 'a member has logged in within the past 7 days').

Requests outside the windows above that we judge in good faith to be opportunistic (e.g. requesting a refund 6 months after purchase with no prior contact).

Disputes

If you disagree with our refund decision, you can escalate to disputes@resumely.co.ke for second-pair-of-eyes review. We respond within 5 business days.

You also retain your statutory right to lodge a complaint with the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) for consumer disputes.
